Lake Trasimeno Fishing Museum

The Lake Trasimeno Fishing Museum is at San Feliciano, next to the northern fishing port. On 19 July 1997 it was reopened to the public in the site that once housed the Fishing and Aquaculture Consortium of Trasimeno.

The Museum has a permanent lay-out and halls dedicated to temporary exhibitions, educational workshops for school children and groups and a conference hall. Twenty years since the previous museum project, the outfitting has been rethought and enriched both at a scientific and technological level.

The exhibition offers a meditated reading of an extremely rich heritage in which the knowledge of the lake, with its particular geo-physical and environmental characteristics and updated with the latest purchases, is linked to the knowledge acquired over time by the communities of fishermen and hunters who have come to relate with it.
