Piegaro
Piegaro is a small medieval village surrounded by green hills that follow the course of the Nestore River.
In the historic centre, within the walls dating back to Roman times with a 12th century tower, it is possible to admire the Church of St, Sylvester, the Church of the Madonna of the Cross, with a wooden statue of the Ecce Homo, Misciatelli-Pallavicini Palace.
The Glass Museum is the most important testimony of the ancient art of glass processing. The Museum is located within the complex of the ancient glassworks, important example of industrial archeology of which it retains the original appearance.
In the small village of Pietrafitta one can visit the Paleontological Museum that houses one of the richest collections of vertebrate fossils in Italy. The museum also preserves the memory of the mining activity in the area, above all focusing attention on social events and the condition of local workers.
