Venus of Trasimeno
Lake Trasimeno Fishing Museum
Lake Trasimeno in the course of the prehistory and protohistory has experienced intense human occupation. Already at the end of the Palaeolithic, groups of hunters were chasing their prey along its shores. Attributable to the Upper Palaeolithic the famous round statuette, made of steatite and known as “Venus of Trasimeno” is among the most important documents that attest the first human settlements in the region around Lake Trasimeno.
