Hall of gods
Corgna Palace and the Medieval Fortress
Around the figure of Jupiter, who looks down from the clerestory, are depicted divinities of Olympus – Mercury, two figures of Venus, Saturn, Apollo, Minerva, Mars, Diana – and the twelve zodiac signs. Subsequent tampering and restorations carried out between 1937 and 1939 by Pico Cellini resulted in extensive repainting, which did not compromise only the figures of Jupiter, Mercury, Saturn, Apollo, but also the more fragmentary Venus and the half bust of Minerva. The restorations of the 1990s eliminated the previous interventions and partially recovered the original decorations.
