Eleuteri Airport

In 1918, a “land field” was inaugurated in Castiglione del Lago designed to unite seaplanes and land planes in a single structure. It was enlarged in 1931 and named after Leopoldo Eleuteri. It hosted the School of Fighter Planes that operated until 1943, gradually decommissioned in the course of the  second post-war period, today it hosts the annual events Spring Meeting– Gathering of ultra light aircraft, and Colour the Skies – International kite festival.
